About the Role This is a contractor position through X-Team. This position focuses on taking full ownership of designing, building, and scaling custom integration middleware for a high-growth event management platform. You will engineer serverless integrations connecting REST APIs to enterprise platforms—including Salesforce, HubSpot, payment gateways, and mobile apps—for major international festivals and conferences. Operating in a high-stakes environment where event launches trigger massive traffic spikes, your resilient middleware will protect platform stability, handle third-party rate limits, and ensure zero dropped registrations.   Most Important Senior Integration Engineering Experience with 5+ years of software engineering, specifically designing and building mission-critical middleware solutions from scratch. Serverless Architecture Mastery using Netlify Functions, AWS Lambda, or similar serverless compute platforms. High-Volume Traffic & Resiliency Architecture including expertise in message queues (SQS, BullMQ), exponential backoff retries, rate-limiting safeguards, and backpressure management. CRM & Enterprise API Systems with proven hands-on experience building robust two-way data synchronizations with platforms like Salesforce and HubSpot. Full-Stack Capability with proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js or React) to build lightweight custom client interfaces and request forms. Technical Client Leadership with strong communication skills to lead client calls, gather requirements, explain schema mismatches and sync delays to non-technical stakeholders, and provide live-event support. Nice to Have Event Tech Industry Experience or a background supporting high-concurrency event, ticketing, or registration platforms. Payment Gateway & Security Standards expertise implementing secure payment processors with strict adherence to PCI DSS standards and encryption protocols. API Standards & Protocols including deep familiarity with RESTful design patterns, webhooks, and modern authorization methods (OAuth2, API keys). Technical Documentation Mastery with a track record of authoring clear integration guides and developer docs to accelerate future client onboarding.
